my big pink bush!

i know, i know..ain't she sweet...and PINK!!!! my mind is not in the gutter...it is on my rosebush!!! i'm a wimpy gardner. i admit it. i am wimpy by default. military moving makes it challenging and expensive to decorate my yard each time we relocate. i don't plant much the 3rd spring i live somewhere.....but the third spring has sprung this amazing rosebush!!! i bought it 3 years ago and this is the result of lots and lots of love. the last time i had a rosebush this pretty, we lived in germany and i had to give the bush away. sob.
i love roses!!! if i could have tons of climbing roses, i would. roses are cheap to buy and easy to maintain and the production of flowers is ongoing!!! so nice. i admire the gardeners out there that keep us with the roses. who cares about keeping up with the jones....keep us with the roses instead!!!
my dad took care of our rosebushes when i was a child. he nurtured those roses like an hour on the couch. i remember how pretty those plants were each spring. roses remind me of my dad.....
i shot this pic with my iphone of zoey next to the yellow roses of the mexican cantina. yes....that is a particular rose. i'm kidding.
roses also remind me of summer and cottages....florals and light.....not the crazy rain we keep getting and cool temps that desolate my painting days....waaah....
so i took a few pics of some cottage inspired things about the house......zoey writing a letter about how many barbies she wants in her room or something....and i can't plant flowers around my tree because the deer much them for midnight snacks! that said....i LOVE these sweet wooden garden adornments. found them all for $6!!!!! found them at SENECA CANNERY ANTIQUE MALL....havre de grace maryland!!!!! CHECK it out if you are ever in town!!!!
the extent of my plantings this year......lol
and a lil house.....occupied....and heavy enough that the storms won't knock it down.
cottage....yes....decorating. can't stop rearranging stuff in my little corner cabinet.
brought my dress form off the windowsill so she could get in on the family action. i know...i personify my stuff. what does that make me?? hoarder. i hate that show.
i love these little journals!!! ME always make me think old school cottage!!! mary E. was and still is the queen of cottage if you ask me. these are all so cute and under $1 a piece....compliments of goodwill.

what says cottage like a pair of 50 cent butter yellow slip-ons and a FREE braided run.......
a new hanging basket for my closet door.....SO cottage. love it!!!!
and cottage means lots of sunshine and warm temps to get into the craft room and crank out some work.....
i made these 2 little collages today from 50 cent frames......
thanks for stopping by. i'm off for my afternoon coffee and a big ole cup of ice water to cure the cake cravings....
have a great weekend....
lol

I love, love vintage wooden garden ornaments! And rose, don't get me going. I have a few bushes that are thriving and I just planted a new one before I left. Cross your fingers that it is still going strong when I get home.
